Barbara Viniar, a long-time friend here at The Bookstore had her first book, Little Bird, published almost one year ago and while she’s been busy and we’ve been busy, we finally figured out the best time for her to come here for a reading, and that time is this coming Wednesday June 24th at 5pm

And we hope it’s a good time for you as well, because we’re looking forward to the event and want you to be part of it.

Barbara is the third of three women whose books we are celebrating this month. Lita Moses’ memoir The Red Hotel and Ellen Meeropol’s novel Sometimes an Island both featured strong women, outsiders in America.

Feige, her family’s “little bird” back in the old country,  who becomes Fannie in the new world, is our hero this week, a character based on the life of the author’s grandmother (to whom the book is dedicated), but invented clearly through her own imagination and deeply felt love.  She is a joy to behold.

Read Sonia Pilcer’s review of Little Bird in the Berkshire Edge.

Please join us to celebrate Little Bird by Barbara Viniar this coming Wednesday June 24th at 5pm.

We have three more events scheduled for July, details coming soon on our website. And a big thanks for your comments after my radio appearance on WAMC last week. And, as always, thanks for reading.
