Dear Friends,
These last two weeks of the month of May find us here at The Bookstore suddenly, but happily, a little overwhelmed. Six author events over the next ten days, one here and the others away. And we’re off and running:

First, Rick Hutto will be at The Bookstore this coming Friday morning, May 23rd , 10 a.m. till noon, signing copies of his book

The Countess and the Nazi. It’ s harrowing 20th century tale featuring Gilded Age Lenox among other international venues, which is why he’s come to The Berkshires in the first place. Go HERE to learn all about it.

Next day Saturday May 24, we will be at the Mahaiwe Theater in Great Barrington for the annual Mona Sherman Memorial OLLI lecture, this year featuring journalist Chris Whipple and his latest book Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History. That’s at 5 p.m. Please follow this link for more info: https://berkshireolli.org/event-6093100

Friday May 30 at 2 pm  co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires, Jehuda Reinharz will be speaking at Shakespeare & Co on his new book Chaim Weizmann: A Biography, and we’ll be providing books for that one. Learn more HERE.

Next day, Saturday, May 31, we’re going to be all over town:
Roberta Silman will be at Stockbridge Library reading from her new book Heart-Work at 3 p.m. Roberta is a long-time friend and it’s always a pleasure to be at the book table with her. Info HERE.

At almost the very same time, Saturday May 31st, we’re going to have two of our booksellers at BIFF, the Berkshire International Film Festival in Great Barrington, providing the books for not one, but two author talks.
First, at 11 a.m., BIFF board member Lillian Lenox will be talking with Dana Thomas, author of Fashionopolis: Why WhatWe Wear Matters and then at 3 p.m. Kevin Smokler, author of Break the Frame will be in conversation, moderated by BIFF board member Greg Rhem, with three women film directors who are each screening their films at BIFF this year.
