Dear Friends,
We are still reeling from the sudden and untimely death of our own Scott “Renzo” Renzoni, a week ago.  He held a quiet presence here that we sorely miss, but are muddling on best as we can.

Renzo was a poet and an actor, as well as a bookseller, and his loss is also being mourned in those other worlds where he lived and played.

A memorial is being planned for Renzo at Shakespeare & Co on Sunday Feb 16.  Full details will emerge soon and we’ll post those on our website. Or you can call or write and we can tell you more as we know them.

And as we turn our attention to the new year, I am very happy to announce that we will have a full schedule of events in the coming months, starting with Lois Cahall’s new novel The Many Lives and Loves of Hazel Lavery this coming Sunday, January 26 at 4 pm right here at The Bookstore.

Lois is a good deal like her heroine Hazel: both are forces of nature. We met the author last summer; we met her character just last week when the book officially published.

Besides being an author, Lois is also the founder of the Cape Cod Literary Festival. Besides being a London socialite, Hazel is also the lover of Michael Collins of the IRA.

Historical fiction at its best, The Many Lives and Loves of Hazel Lavery is a grand way to begin our calendar year of author events. It is available in both cloth (hardcover) and paperback.

Please watch this space for ongoing announcements, and also please check out our website, where we’ll be listing the events coming up.

As always, thanks for reading.
Matt
