We’ve got a treat for you: Melissa Newman will be here Sunday afternoon Dec 15 at 4 pm with her fabulous photo book “Head Over Heels” Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman: A Love Affair in Words and Pictures”
I met Melissa, who’s also a jazz singer, at a gig at the Lion’s Den back in October and we decided then that she should come and share her book and her stories at The Bookstore.
The book is a true work of art itself – striking images by artists including Richard Avedon, Gordon Parks, Bruce Davidson among others, and accompanied by family snapshots, letters, handwritten notes that make it a real family treasure. It’s a beautiful tribute that we can all enjoy.
Melissa has done her job well!
Some of you may recall the day Joanne and Paul came to The Bookstore; it was on our fortieth anniversary party, April 1, 2016. We’ve got a photo of that day ourselves, as well.
