Can you stand one more ‘special’ book, one more ‘special’ booksigning event?
This coming Sunday, December 14 at 4 pm, we are hosting David Mazower and Lisa Newman of the Yiddish Book Center.
Lisa is director of publishing and public programs, and David, editorial director and chief curator, is the author of YIDDISH: A GLOBAL CULTURE, a stunning 300 + page collection of images, artifacts and history of Yiddishkeit.
He is also the great grand-son of one of the great Yiddish writers, Sholem Asch, whose work we have proudly offered over the years, so he comes by his craft honestly.
David has put together a truly global history of Yiddish as language, as entertainment, as politics, as, well the soul of the Ashkenazic experience. It’s a beautiful, panoramic view of the wealth and reach of Yiddish culture worldwide.
Lisa and David will speak of the exhibit and share stories of how this incredibly beautiful book came to be. I invite you to a truly special occasion, Yiddish: A Global Culture, this Sunday, December 14 a 4 pm.
