This Week at The Bookstore July 7 – 13, 2025
We’ve got two events for you this week, this very busy week, unfortunately they’re both the same day! At the same hour, too!
This is what (sometimes) happens when you make plans so far in advance…well, this is what happened when I made two separate plans and forgot to check my calendar.
Thursday, July 10 at 5 pm we welcome Shulamit Reinharz, author of Hiding in Holland: A Resistance Memoir.

Here is a story that lays bare the experience of being the hunted, the one the authorities are trying to capture. Here is the daughter and her father re-telling his journey, with a new take on the meaning of ‘resistance’.
Shula will be joined in conversation by her friend Lenox resident Nancy Kaplan Belsky, and will be available to sign copies of her book at the conclusion of the event.
The other program that night is a screening of Hello, Bookstore at The Becket Arts Center on Route 8 in Becket.
The good folks up there asked us months ago and this was the date we all agreed on, but I was the one who forgot and that’s why I booked Shula the same night. My apologies, and I hope that whichever choice you make Thursday you will have made the right one!

Filmmaker Adam Zax and I will be on hand for a Q & A after the screening, and I must tell you that even three years after its first premier, we’re still excited and proud to share the film with you. Here’s the trailer:
As always, thanks for reading.
